Munchkin Level Classes

Ages 2.5 – 3.5
Kinder Mini
- 30 minute class
- This class is where it all begins
- This class offers a basic introduction to Jazz, Ballet and Creative Movement
- You will be amazed when you see your 3 year old skipping, marching and galloping across the floor by the end of the season
- The dancers will learn lots of fun songs and all the actions that go along with them
Ages 3.5 – 4
Kinder Mighty
- 45 minute class
- This class is a continuation of the Mini program but also provides a great start for 4 year olds
- Dancers will build on what they learned in the Mini program and add lots more
- This class focuses strongly on the basics in Jazz and Ballet

Ages 4.5 – 5.5
Munchkin Jazz
- 45 min class
- Dancers will learn basic stretching, jumps, turns and across the floor movement
- This is a classic dance style with a new age twist
- This class is fun and energetic but technical too
Ages 4.5 – 5.5
Munchkin Hip Hop
- 30 min introduction to Hip Hop
- This class really gets the kids mov’n
- Variety of body movement, jumps, across the floor movement and fun combos
- Dancers don’t stop mov’n in this trendy class
Ages 4.5 – 5.5
Munchkin Tap
- 30 min introduction to tap
- Dancers will learn all of their basic tap sounds, beats and rhythms
- Tap is so great for kids to improve their musicality and coordination
- Make music with your feet!!
Ages 4.5 – 5.5
Munchkin Ballet
- 45 min introduction to Ballet
- Focused on Ballet technique
- Based on the R.A.D Pre Primary Ballet Syllabus
- This class is a fun way to start great Ballet technique
Ages 4.5 – 5.5
Munchkin Tumble
- 45 min introduction to Acro
- Dancers will start to limber up their bodies for centre and across the mat work
- Dancers will build a strong foundation for future tricks to come
- Dancers will learn all of their basic mat work such as seals, baskets, tables, bridges, scales and needles
- Dancers will work progress across the mat with their froggie hops, log rolls, somersaults and introduction to cartwheels
- It’s amazing what their little bodies can do!
Ages 4.5 – 5.5
Munchkin Musical Theatre
- 30 min introduction to Musical Theatre
- Singing, Acting and Dancing all rolled into a fun 30 min class
- Dancers will learn their basic expressions and how to show them with their whole bodies
- Dancers will learn how to play a character
- Dancers will learn how to use their basic dance steps while carrying a tune
Junior, Intermediate and Senior Level Classes

Jazz
- Junior Levels: 45 minute class
- Intermediate and Senior Levels: 60 minute class
- Jump, turn, run and leap
- This is a classic technical style mixed with a new age twist full of fun and energy
- This class consists of a warm-up, centre technical work, across the floor work and a combination
Tap
- Junior Levels: 45 minute class
- Intermediate and Senior Levels: 60 minute class
- Tap is a very classic dance style and we have added a modern twist
- All the classic steps and their history will be learned along with lots of fun new elements
- Tap is the best class to enhance co-ordination, rhythm and musical understanding
- This class consists of a warm-up, centre technical work, across the floor work and a combination
- Let’s make some noise!!
Ballet
- Junior Levels: 45 minute class
- Intermediate and Senior Levels: 60 minute class
- Ballet is the essential ingredient to every dancer
- Primary and Junior levels will have many additional activities added in to enhance creative expression
- This class develops posture, flexibility, placement and a better understanding of the body
- This class consists of a warm-up, barre exercises, centre floor exercises and across the floor work
- R.A.D Ballet Exams held in the late Spring
Lyrical/Contemporary
- 45 – 60 minute class
- This class provides a great escape for Intermediates and Seniors
- Interpret the music, let your body tell the story and move freely
- This class consists of a warm-up, centre technical work, across the floor work and a combination
Acro
- This is the solution for those students that can’t decide between dance and gymnastics
- This amazing class combines classical dance technique with precise acrobatic elements
- Acro blends dance and acrobatics and its use of acrobatics in a dance context
- It is a popular dance style in amateur dancers as well as professional dance theater and contemporary circus productions such as those by Cirque du Soleil
- This is in contrast to rhythmic and artistic gymnastics which are sports that employ dance elements in a gymnastics context, with each being regulated by a governing gymnastics organization and Code of Points
- Acro is a challenging dance style as dancers are requires to be trained in both dance and acrobatic skills
- Acro dancers must be in excellent physical condition as well, because acro is a physically demanding activity
- It is defined by its athletic character and its unique choreography
Hip Hop
- Junior Levels: 45 minute class
- Intermediate and Senior Levels: 60 minute class
- This class is full of energy, great music and great moves
- Learn to dance like your favourite Pop Star
- This class consists of a warm-up and combinations
Musical Theatre
- 45 minute class
- This class is a blast for those that want to be the Triple Threat
- Sing, Act and Dance
- Each month we work on a different piece from a musical
- Students learn how to dive into a character to play the part to the fullest
- Basic dance elements are learned so dancers are prepared for anything!
